Before you start
You need Brightspace administrator access (Manage Extensibility) and a CuraCourse organization owner or admin.
1. Create an activation code in CuraCourse
In CuraCourse, open your organization, choose LMS, then Create activation code. Under Add CuraCourse to your LMS, choose Brightspace.
2. Add CuraCourse to Brightspace
- In Brightspace, go to Admin Tools → Manage Extensibility → LTI Advantage.
- Choose Register Tool, then Dynamic.
- Paste the Dynamic registration URL from the CuraCourse page and choose Register.
- Switch the tool to Enabled.
This also adds your Brightspace to CuraCourse, so you can skip the form on the CuraCourse page. The URL includes your activation code, so it stops working once the code is used, expires, or is replaced.
If you can't use Dynamic, choose Standard instead and use the Login URL, Redirect URL, and Keyset URL from the CuraCourse page. Then enter your Brightspace address and client ID on the CuraCourse page and choose Register LMS.
3. Create a deployment
- Open the CuraCourse tool and choose View Deployments, then New Deployment.
- Choose the org units that can use CuraCourse.
- Under Security Settings, share the user's name, email, and role.
- Under Custom Parameters, add the line from the CuraCourse page. It looks like
curacourse_activation=ccl_…. - Save, then create a link for the deployment.
4. Open CuraCourse once
As an instructor or administrator, open the CuraCourse link from a course. This connects your Brightspace. Instructors add CuraCourse to course content with Insert Stuff → CuraCourse.
