File Upload

Collect files as a response to a lesson activity.

What this block does

A File Upload Activity lets students submit files in response to your instructions. Use it for a report, a project artifact, or work created outside the lesson editor.

How to use it

  1. In lesson Edit mode, type / and insert File Upload Activity.
  2. Describe the required files and what students should include.
  3. Configure the available multi-file and file-size limits for the task.
  4. Add a rubric and set the points and supported grading criteria.
  5. Preview the learner upload controls and test a representative file before publishing.

Example

Ask students to upload a lab report and the data file used to create its chart. State the expected filenames or formats in the instructions so students know what to prepare.

Grading and feedback

Use rubrics to assess the submitted work. A successful upload alone does not demonstrate that the work meets the learning goal. For an upload failure, check the configured limits and retry with a supported file; include the exact error when contacting support.

Block preview

File uploads need a course response. This preview shows the actual upload block without sending files.
