## At a glance

Instructors create courses inside a **workspace** (personal) or **organization** (school/team). The setup wizard collects the type, optional segment, name, and (for schools) team invites.

## Prerequisites

- You chose **I'm here to teach** or clicked **Start teaching** from the dashboard or under your profile icon.

## Steps

1. On **Set up your workspace**, choose:

   - **Just me** — Personal workspace for your own courses.
   - **A school or organization** — Shared workspace; you can invite others to teach.
2. **School path only:** On **What kind of organization?**, pick K-12, higher ed, or business/training—or **Not sure — skip for now**. Segment affects verification and offering limits later.
3. Enter a **Workspace name** or **Organization name** (learners see this on courses), then select **Create workspace** / **Create organization**.
4. **School path:** On **Invite your team**, send invites or choose **Continue to your first course**.
5. **Personal path:** You’re taken to **Create a course** automatically.

## Common gotchas

- Until a school organization is verified, course offerings may be limited; the UI explains the current limit.
- You can create more workspaces later from **Organizations** under your profile icon (when you manage at least one org).
