## Before you start
You need to be a Blackboard system administrator and a CuraCourse organization owner or admin. These steps work for both Ultra and Original courses.

## 1. Create an activation code in CuraCourse
In CuraCourse, open your organization, choose **LMS**, then **Create activation code**. Under **Add CuraCourse to your LMS**, choose **Blackboard**. Copy the **Client ID** and the **Custom parameter**.

## 2. Add CuraCourse to Blackboard
1. Go to **Administrator Panel → LTI Tool Providers**.
2. Choose **Register LTI 1.3/Advantage Tool** and paste the client ID.
3. Set **Tool Status** to **Approved**.
4. Under **Institution Policies**, share the user's name, email, and course role.
5. Under **Custom Parameters**, paste the line from the CuraCourse page. It looks like `curacourse_activation=ccl_…`.
6. Submit. Then add a **Course content tool** placement, and a **Deep Linking content tool** placement so instructors can add assignments.

There is nothing to fill in on the CuraCourse page for Blackboard.

## 3. Open CuraCourse once
As an instructor or administrator, open CuraCourse from a course. This connects your Blackboard to your organization.
